Growing up, certain bands just completely own your high school playlist—the kind of piano-driven, catchy pop-rock that defined entire eras of Tumblr aesthetics, emotional lyric journals, and late-night headphone sessions. 

Among all those rotation staples, The Cab held a permanent top spot in my heart, especially because of how completely obsessed I've always been with their iconic duet version of "Take My Hand" featuring Cassadee Pope (Hey Monday!). That specific remix elevated an already flawless track into an absolute masterclass of pop-rock collaboration, blending Alexander DeLeon's emotive grit with Cassadee's soaring vocals in a way that defined countless repeat-button sessions. 

So when The Cab finally returned to Manila for their explosive show at the New Frontier Theatre under #PlaybackPresents, it felt like stepping straight into a massive, living time capsule. Standing in the crowd surrounded by fans who’ve loved them for over a decade, the collective energy was pure, unadulterated nostalgia from the exact second the venue lights went down.

I left the New Frontier Theatre completely exhausted, voice totally gone, and riding on a post-concert high that lasted for days. The Cab proved once again why they hold such a special, irreplaceable place in our pop-rock hearts. Standing in that crowd surrounded by fellow fans screaming every lyric felt like the ultimate full-circle moment for anyone who grew up living and breathing that era of music. Some songs never really get old—they just wait for the right live stage to take you right back.
